Two killed and five injured in shooting in the French city of Nice

Two people were killed and five others were injured, including serious cases, in a shooting on Friday evening in the coastal city of Nice in southern France.

Nice Mayor Christian Estrosi explained that the incident is related to drug crimes, and that the weapons used were automatic, calling for an increase in security presence in the affected neighborhood.

Authorities confirmed that investigations are underway based on suspicion of committing premeditated murder by an organized gang, while the suspects remain at large, and efforts for search and pursuit continue.
