Trump's envoy to Ukraine: "the cat" that gives Kyiv nights of peace

In a notable tweet posted on his account on the "X" platform, Keith Kellogg, the U.S. President's special envoy to Ukraine, revealed today, Saturday, the nickname that has been given to him within Ukrainian circles: "the cat," showcasing a picture of a statue symbolizing a black cat in the capital Kyiv, where his official meetings took place.

 Kellogg explained that the pronunciation of his name "Keith" is similar to the word "cat" in the Ukrainian language, which led local residents to give him this nickname, which has come to carry a symbolic meaning of security and safety, saying: "When the cat visits Ukraine, Russia halts its attacks on civilians, granting them a few nights of peace."

Kellogg's statements came after a meeting he had with General Kyrylo Budanov near the cat statue, where he described the discussion as "good and fruitful," at a time when Russian attacks on Kyiv and eastern Ukrainian regions are escalating.

Earlier today, Kellogg held an official session with Rustem Umerov, the head of the Ukrainian National Security and Defense Council, discussing U.S. efforts to stop the war and establish lasting peace between Russia and Ukraine, amid signs of declining trust between Washington and Moscow.

According to informed sources, U.S. President Donald Trump has begun to show impatience towards his Russian counterpart Vladimir Putin, hinting at the Kremlin's lack of seriousness in reaching a peaceful settlement, and threatening the possibility of imposing new sanctions, alongside calling on NATO countries to stop purchasing Russian oil.

Although Trump described his recent meeting with Putin in Alaska as "very positive," subsequent developments have not been encouraging, as Putin confirmed that there are conditions and preliminary preparations that must precede any potential meeting with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky.
