Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu renewed his threat to the Hamas leaders residing in Qatar, considering them to be the "main obstacle" to reaching a ceasefire agreement in Gaza.
Netanyahu wrote in a post on the "X" platform on Saturday: "The leaders of Hamas terrorists living in Qatar do not care about the people in Gaza. They have obstructed all attempts for a ceasefire to prolong the war. Eliminating them will remove the main obstacle to the release of our hostages and ending the war," he stated.
This threat comes days after an Israeli raid targeted a meeting of the movement's leaders in the Qatari capital Doha on September 9, including the head of the movement in Gaza, Khalil al-Hayya, and several senior officials. So far, the death of any of the targeted leaders has not been confirmed, while Hamas announced the death of Hamam Khalil al-Hayya, the son of Khalil al-Hayya, along with others.
