Trump Announces Request for More B-2 Stealth Bombers After 'Decisive Success' in Striking Iran

Trump stated that "those beautiful B-2 bombers completely eliminated Iran's potential nuclear supplies," adding, "We just requested more of them, because they are amazing in every sense of the word."
“The Flying Wing”.. An Icon of American Deterrence
The B-2 Spirit, produced by Northrop Grumman and entered service in 1997, is one of the most advanced air deterrence platforms thanks to its unique "flying wing" design and advanced stealth capabilities that allow it to penetrate intercontinental airspace undetected.
It also features the ability to carry extremely destructive weapons, including GBU-57 bunker buster bombs and nuclear weapons, making it a cornerstone of the U.S. strategic deterrent system.
Details of Operation “Midnight Hammer”
Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, General Dan Keen, revealed that seven B-2 stealth bombers participated in Operation "Midnight Hammer," which targeted three Iranian nuclear sites last June.
Keen noted that the aircraft took off from the United States on an 18-hour flight, with some heading west toward the Pacific Ocean as part of a deception plan, while the strike group penetrated deep into Iran targeting the Natanz, Isfahan, and Fordow facilities.
Limited Fleet and Exceptional Effectiveness
The U.S. Air Force currently has only 19 B-2 bombers, after losing one in a crash in 2008, making each aircraft a "highly sensitive strategic asset" for the Air Force leadership.
