The permanent representative of the United Arab Emirates to the United Nations, Mohammed Abu Shihab, confirmed on Wednesday that his country does not seek escalation despite the increasing tensions in the region.

Abu Shihab explained that the defensive capabilities possessed by the UAE contributed to countering recent attacks, adding: "If it weren't for our capabilities to counter these attacks, the extent of the damage would have been much greater."

The Emirati representative emphasized that his country will take all necessary measures to protect its territory and sovereignty, while also confirming that Abu Dhabi does not wish to expand the scope of escalation in the region.
