Iraqi Prime Minister Mohammed Shia' al-Sudani affirmed on Tuesday that only the state has the decision of war and peace, stressing that the government will stand against any party trying to drag the country into involvement in regional disputes.
Al-Sudani explained that the government is committed to protecting Iraq's sovereignty, airspace, and territorial waters, and preventing the use of its land in ongoing conflicts in the region.
He pointed out that the Iraqi armed forces continue to perform their duties in protecting public and private properties, as well as securing foreign diplomatic missions within the country.
He concluded by emphasizing that Baghdad is working to coordinate positions that contribute to enhancing stability, halting military operations, and reducing the causes of escalation and violence.
