Dr. Hamza Mustafa (born 1985) has extensive experience in media and academic research. He previously served as the General Manager of Syria TV Network from mid-2020 until his appointment as a minister.

Mustafa worked as an editorial supervisor at Arab Television - London (2019–2020) and as an editor for "Arab Policies" magazine (2011–2018).

The new minister holds a Bachelor's degree in Political Science from Damascus University (2007) and pursued a Master's degree in International Relations at the same university before being dismissed in 2012 due to his support for the Syrian revolution.

In addition to his media work, Mustafa worked as a researcher at the Arab Center for Research and Policy Studies in Doha, and published several peer-reviewed books and research papers, including: "The Virtual Public Sphere in the Syrian Revolution: Characteristics, Trends, and Mechanisms of Opinion Formation".

Mustafa also contributed to the writing of "The Kurdish Issue in Syria: Reality, History, and Narratives" and "Revolution Backgrounds: Syrian Studies".

On March 29, 2025, Dr. Hamza Mustafa was appointed as the Minister of Information in the new Syrian government formation.
