The Ministry of Emergency and Disaster Management in Damascus received today, Thursday, the first batch of logistical aid provided by the International Search and Rescue Group of Qatar's Internal Security Force "Lekhwiya", in coordination with the Qatar Development Fund and the United Nations Development Programme.
This step was announced during a press conference attended by the Minister of Emergency and Disaster Management Raed Saleh, the Chargé d'Affaires at the Qatari Embassy in Damascus Khalifa bin Abdullah Al Mahmoud, and the UNDP Resident Representative Dr. Mohammed Siddiq Madawi.
The aid includes equipment, machinery, and specialized devices for search and rescue operations, which enhances the capabilities of the Syrian Civil Defense teams (White Helmets) to respond to disasters and crises, and contributes to alleviating the suffering of civilians under the current humanitarian conditions.
The ministry expressed its gratitude to the State of Qatar for its continuous support and efforts in enhancing humanitarian response and saving lives, affirming that this step represents an important boost towards the recovery of affected communities.
