Philippine Police Investigate the Assassination of Abdulrahman Al-Shawadfi, Director of the Muslim Brotherhood Charity Institutions

The executive director of the Egyptian charitable institutions, Abdulrahman Al-Shawadfi Al-Faqi (49 years old), was killed after being shot in Zamboanga City, southern Philippines.
According to Philippine authorities, the incident occurred when an armed man on a motorcycle approached Al-Faqi's vehicle while he was driving and opened fire on him before fleeing the scene. Special investigative teams have been formed to pursue the perpetrators and identify their motives, starting operations by examining surveillance cameras and questioning eyewitnesses.
The deceased, who belonged to the Muslim Brotherhood, was a prominent figure in humanitarian and advocacy work in the Philippine Mindanao region. He served as the director of the "Human Foundation for Social and Educational Development" and the "Asia Islamic Academy," both institutions affiliated with the group that play a significant role in providing aid to the poor and orphans and conducting relief operations.
In addition to his administrative position, Al-Faqi was known for his direct field activity in caring for orphans and the poor. About a year ago, he established a small Islamic school in the village of Burfayers in Cotabato City, reflecting his focus on both developmental and educational aspects.
Accounts affiliated with the Muslim Brotherhood mourned Al-Shawadfi, emphasizing his relief and social role. The news of the assassination, revealed by Philippine media last night, stated that Al-Faqi "was working in the field of relief and caring for orphans and the poor."
Investigations are still ongoing to determine the circumstances of the crime and uncover the identity of the killer and their motives, in an incident that has caused sadness in the social circles that the deceased served.
