Assistant Secretary-General for Cabinet Affairs, Ali Kaddah, held an important meeting with a delegation from the Ministry of Transport led by Minister of Transport, Yarob Badr, to discuss several key issues aimed at regulating and improving the mechanisms of government institutions, especially in the transportation sector. The meeting was part of governmental efforts to restructure the ministry and resolve administrative complexities with other ministries affecting operations, in addition to organizing government vehicles more efficiently by allocating specific fuel quotas to them to streamline usage and ensure fair distribution. During the meeting, Minister of Transport Yarob Badr presented a comprehensive plan to unify procedures within the ministry and enhance the organization of the utilized mechanisms, emphasizing the need to expedite amending the current traffic law. He confirmed intentions for a comprehensive amendment to the traffic law in the near future to regulate the vehicle sector in line with modern requirements and transportation challenges in the country. At the end of the meeting, there was preliminary agreement to establish a specialized government committee tasked with monitoring the implementation of agreed-upon measures and plans within a specified timeframe to enhance performance efficiency and administrative transparency in the government sector. This step is part of a comprehensive strategy to improve the management of the transportation sector, provide better services to citizens, regulate government vehicles more precisely, and contribute to controlling the fuel market and enhancing its effective consumption in Syria.
