On Thursday, the first direct passenger flight of a Saudi Arabian aircraft operated by "FlyNas" arrived at Damascus International Airport from the capital Riyadh after years of suspension. According to "SANA," Abdullah Al-Harbi, the acting charge d'affaires of the Saudi Embassy in Damascus, mentioned that the resumption of air traffic between Saudi Arabia and Syria reflects the depth of the fraternal relations between the two sisterly peoples, confirming the mutual aspiration for further prosperity and progress. On the other hand, Abdullah Al-Nasser, the Investment Director at the Syrian General Authority of Civil Aviation and Air Transport, affirmed that the resumption of air traffic between Syria and Saudi Arabia represents a new start in the cooperation path, contributing to advancing the vital aviation sector further. He explained that this step was a result of continuous efforts aimed at developing the work. Moreover, Anis Flouh, the Director of Damascus International Airport, stated that the suspension of flights by the Saudi airline "FlyNas" to Damascus Airport lasted for more than 12 years, indicating that the authority managed to achieve significant developments that attracted and engaged airlines in the Syrian market. Deputy Head of Commercial Sector at "FlyNas," Abdulilah Al-Eidi Oudah, mentioned that there will be three weekly flights from Riyadh, while two weekly flights will operate starting from June 12 from Jeddah. Additionally, there will be a daily flight in the seventh month from Riyadh and Jeddah, highlighting that "FlyNas" has reconnected the Kingdom with Syria, benefiting the Syrian community in Saudi Arabia and facilitating Saudi tourists interested in visiting Syria.
