The President of the Damascus Chamber of Industry and its Countryside, Mohammad Ayman Al-Mulawi, discussed on Thursday with the members of the Board of Directors of the Syrian-Chinese Friendship Foundation, Joe Lee Jan and Sun Xi Bin, the future plans for the Chinese side's work mechanism in the two free zones in Adra, rural Damascus, and in Hasya, Homs Governorate.

The discussions during the meeting focused on the investments obtained by the Chinese company "Fidi Contracting," which include establishing an integrated industrial zone comprising factories and various production facilities, developing commercial and service projects to meet the needs of the local and regional markets. Emphasis was placed on the importance of this step in directing Chinese investments towards the most needed sectors, enhancing the chances of success.

The members of the Board of Directors of the Friendship Foundation also requested the Chamber to provide them with a list of the most demanded Chinese products or raw materials in the Syrian markets, aiming to attract Chinese investors to invest in the free zone.

It is worth mentioning that the General Authority for Land and Maritime Ports signed a memorandum of understanding with the Chinese company "Fidi Contracting" last month, granting the company full investment rights in the free zone in Hasya, Homs City, and 300,000 square meters of the free zone in Adra, rural Damascus, to establish commercial and service projects that meet the requirements of the local and regional markets.

The Syrian-Chinese Friendship Foundation is registered at the Ministry of Social Affairs and Labor under number 747 dated 27/2/2025.
