Chad's President Idriss Deby said that N'Djamena has stopped issuing entry visas for American citizens today, Thursday, after being included in a decision banning the entry of nationals from 12 countries into the United States. Deby stated on Facebook, "I have instructed the government to act in accordance with the principle of reciprocity and suspend the issuance of visas for American citizens." He added, "Chad does not have planes to offer or billions of dollars to give, but Chad has dignity and self-respect," referring to Qatar's gift of a $400 million plane to President Donald Trump. Chad, along with seven other African countries, was listed among the 12 countries whose nationals are banned from entering the United States by the US administration.
