The Lebanese Ministry of Culture Denies the Use of Baalbek Castle as a Weapons Storage for Hezbollah

The Lebanese Ministry of Culture, in an official statement, denied the circulated claims regarding the use of Baalbek Castle as a weapons storage by party entities, confirming that this information is "devoid of truth and has no connection to reality".
The ministry emphasized that the Lebanese security forces are the only authority responsible for protecting the castle, which is classified as a protected site under the second protocol of the Hague Convention and bears the blue shield emblem for the protection of cultural property in times of conflict.
The ministry urged citizens and media outlets to refer to it for accurate information regarding archaeological sites, confirming that Baalbek Castle is "free of any suspicious materials," in direct response to former MP Antoine Zahra's statements in which he claimed that the castle has been used for decades by "Hezbollah" as a weapons storage.
