In a new development within the regional escalation, the Israeli army announced today, Wednesday, the interception of a drone launched from Yemen, without activating the sirens, amid assurances from the Houthi group of carrying out a military operation described as "qualitative" against sensitive targets inside Israel.
The Houthi operation, which was carried out with a hypersonic ballistic missile of the "Palestine 2" type with multiple warheads, along with two drones, targeted the Jaffa area according to a statement from the group's military spokesperson, coinciding with the adoption of an attack on a cargo ship flying the Dutch flag.
For its part, the Israeli army indicated the interception of another missile launched from Yemen earlier, as part of a series of repeated attacks since the outbreak of the war in Gaza in October 2023, which Israel responded to with airstrikes targeting Houthi sites and leaders in Yemen, resulting in hundreds of casualties.
The Houthi group vowed to continue launching missiles and drones "until the siege of Gaza stops," amid ongoing military confrontations in the sector.
