Egypt Prefers Hamas to Accept Trump's Plan for Gaza

The General Authority for Information in Egypt suggested that Hamas would agree to U.S. President Donald Trump's plan to end the war in Gaza, with some reservations, while the movement is conducting a serious study of the proposal's terms.
The authority warned, through its head Diaa Rashwan in statements to Sky News Arabia on Wednesday evening, that rejecting the plan could lead to serious repercussions at the regional level, emphasizing that any threat to Egyptian national security "will open the door to widespread unrest".
Rashwan also criticized the positions of some Brotherhood factions that oppose the initiative, describing their statements as "unrealistic," and stressing that the current phase requires dealing with political proposals rationally to maintain regional stability.
Trump's plan, announced on Monday and approved by Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, calls for an immediate ceasefire upon acceptance by both parties, followed by the release of all hostages in Gaza in exchange for the release of hundreds of Palestinian detainees.
