The American special envoy to Syria and the U.S. ambassador to Turkey, Tom Barak, confirmed that his recent visit to Al-Hasakah Governorate was part of following up on the implementation of the March 10 agreement concluded between the Syrian government and the "Syrian Democratic Forces," emphasizing that the agreement has strategic importance that goes beyond Syria's interior to also include the interests of Turkey and the United States.

Barak clarified, in a post on platform (X), on Wednesday, that the visit was conducted with complete transparency and aimed at enhancing regional stability, coordinating efforts to combat terrorism, and ensuring the delivery of humanitarian aid, considering that these steps directly serve Turkish security and economy.

In response to criticisms directed at the visit, the American envoy firmly denied that it included any activities that would affect Turkey's national interests or territorial integrity, describing those claims as "unfounded" and "ridiculous."

Barak stressed that his mission focuses on enhancing regional cooperation mechanisms to reduce cross-border threats and support the broader goal of peace and reconstruction in the region.
