Talks Between Washington and Seoul to Ensure Protection for Korean Workers

The Chief National Security Advisor of South Korea, Wi Sung-lak, announced that his country intends to hold talks with American officials to establish clear guidelines regarding the visas for Korean companies operating in the United States.
Wi explained that this step is part of Seoul's efforts to avoid a repeat of the raid that occurred at a battery factory earlier, which resulted in the arrest of hundreds of Korean workers.
He pointed out that the detention of these workers was a collateral result during a search conducted by U.S. immigration authorities for four specific individuals who were targeted.
The Korean government hopes, through these discussions, to enhance the protection of Korean workers and secure a stable working environment for Korean companies in the United States, as well as to prevent any similar actions that could affect the interests of the Korean community or disrupt business activities there.
