Syrian People's Assembly Election Committee: Studying Candidacy Applications and Completing Preparations for the Elections

The Higher Committee for the People's Assembly Elections in Syria announced on Sunday that it continues to study the candidacy applications submitted for membership in the electoral bodies, while preparing to conduct the electoral entitlement on a specified date.
The official spokesperson for the committee, Nawar Najma, stated that "a precise timetable for the electoral process will be determined," noting that "the elections are expected to take place before the end of September."
As part of the preparations, the committee issued decision number (31), which included the final list of subcommittees in some areas of Raqqa and Hasakah governorates. The committee published the text of the decision on its official channel on "Telegram," clarifying that it "was issued based on the provisions of the constitutional declaration and the provisions of decree number (66) for the year 2025 and the provisions of decree number (143) for the year 2025."
The decision stipulates that "the place of work of the subcommittee (is determined) in the center of the electoral district," and that the committees "begin their work from the date of issuance of the decision, and the first name in each committee is considered the head of the subcommittee."
In this regard, the spokesperson for the committee, Nawar Najma, confirmed in a previous statement to the "SANA" agency that "the committee's decision to form subcommittees in some areas of Hasakah and Raqqa governorates comes in response to the residents of these areas, as they are under the control of the Syrian government, and to the desire of their inhabitants to participate in the electoral process in Syria."
