Daraa – Seizure of 118 kilograms of hashish in a quality security operation east of the governorate

The Drug Control Branch in Daraa Governorate carried out a precise raid today, Wednesday, in cooperation with the Internal Security Forces, targeting one of the farms located in the eastern countryside of the governorate, after several days of accurate intelligence monitoring.

The operation resulted in the seizure of a large quantity of hashish amounting to 118 kilograms, which was buried underground inside the farm. One of the main suspects involved in the smuggling operation was arrested, amid indications of a broader network currently under investigation.

This operation comes as part of a series of intensive security measures recently witnessed in Daraa Governorate, in the context of the war on drug trafficking that has escalated in southern Syria, especially in the border areas near Jordan.
