Syria and the UAE discuss enhancing cooperation in the navigation and border crossing sector

The head of the General Authority for Land and Sea Ports in Syria, Qutaiba Badawi, held a meeting today, Wednesday, with the Ambassador of the United Arab Emirates to Damascus, Hassan Ahmed Suleiman Al-Shahi, to discuss ways to enhance bilateral cooperation in various fields, primarily in the maritime navigation sector and the development of port infrastructure.

The UAE ambassador confirmed during the meeting his country's readiness to provide technical expertise and logistical services to support Syria, emphasizing the importance of building strategic partnerships in the management and operation of ports, which contributes to stimulating regional trade.

For his part, Badawi stressed the importance of continuing coordination and expanding areas of cooperation, which solidifies the fraternal relations between the two countries and enhances efforts for economic recovery in Syria, especially after signing previous agreements with Emirati companies such as DP World to develop the Port of Tartus.
