Syrian Interior Ministry spokesperson: The name of the Criminal Security has been changed to Criminal Investigations Department.

During a press conference today, al-Baba mentioned that the role of the Drug Enforcement Administration has been strengthened, stating: "We are working on further developing it, given its importance inside and outside Syria, especially after the ousted regime turned Syria into the largest Captagon source," indicating that despite its recent formation, the administration quickly became a significant regional partner for neighboring countries in combating drugs, and efforts are currently underway to enhance its role in addiction treatment by opening new addiction treatment centers, in coordination with the Ministry of Health.
Al-Baba confirmed the establishment of the Tourist Police Department, responsible for securing tourist sites and visitors, with its personnel being trained in foreign languages and dealing with different nationalities to enhance tourism, believing in its vital role in boosting the national economy and introducing the world to Syria's civilization.
He also mentioned that due to the increasing international crimes of human rights violations, and to safeguard human dignity and rights, "we have established the Human Trafficking and Prostitution Control Department, combating human trafficking, organ trafficking, begging, and more."
