In a new security escalation, the Israeli army announced on Thursday evening that it had managed to intercept a missile launched from Yemeni territory, coinciding with the fall of a drone in the city of Eilat in the south of the country, which led to the activation of alarms in various areas.

According to an official statement, the Israeli Air Force intercepted the missile in the air, while the police confirmed that another drone crashed near one of the tourist hotels in Eilat, with no injuries reported. The army also indicated the interception of a second drone coming from the east.

Local media circulated images from the crash site, showing limited damage near the entrance of the hotel, at a time when the city is experiencing tourist congestion due to the Jewish New Year holiday.

So far, no party has claimed responsibility for the attacks, amid speculation of regional connections, especially with rising tensions in the Red Sea and its surroundings.
