The Syrian Civil Defense warns of the danger of mines.

The Civil Defense explained that necessary measures must be taken to avoid further casualties and to refrain from entering villages, towns, and areas that were previously on the frontlines with the ousted Assad regime. They urged people to avoid entering destroyed homes or using unused roads.
They further stated the importance of staying away from former barracks, military headquarters, barriers, earth mounds, and trenches, pointing out that war remnants are often not visible, as they may be covered by rubble or vegetation, increasing their danger.
They also highlighted that some bombs and mines are timed and could explode upon contact, emphasizing the need to be cautious of any foreign object, not to touch or move it, and to immediately report it to the relevant authorities. They also stressed the importance of educating children about the dangers of mines and explosives.
Moreover, they emphasized that the ousted Bashar al-Assad regime and its loyal militias deliberately planted mines in vital areas and places where civilians are expected to move, aiming to claim more lives, reaffirming their efforts to remove this threat and rescue civilians.
It is worth mentioning that dozens of civilians have been killed and injured since the fall of the Assad regime due to explosions of previously planted landmines.
