The Supreme Fatwa Council issued a fatwa emphasizing the prohibition of encroaching on lives, wealth, and honor, stressing the necessity of reclaiming rights through the judiciary and competent authorities, without resorting to individual revenge. The official SANA agency quoted the fatwa as saying: "One of the greatest injustices is encroaching on innocent lives, honor, and wealth, and it is the right of the oppressed to demand their rights through legitimate means. However, the obligation in fulfilling these rights should only be through the judiciary, not through individual actions or based on rumors, in order to preserve the sanctity of lives and honor and to prevent chaos." The Council warned against inciting individuals to seek revenge, affirming that this "fans the flames of discord and threatens social peace," citing the verse: "And do not kill the soul which Allah has forbidden, except by right." The Council urged officials to "expedite legal proceedings, remove corrupt judges who were tools of the oppressive regime in unjustly treating people, and ensure justice to maintain social stability." Finally, the Council emphasized in conclusion that establishing justice and eliminating injustice are among the most important factors for the stability and progress of societies.
