The General Authority for Civil Aviation announced that its president, Omar Al-Hosari, held a meeting in Montreal, Canada, with the team from the Capacity Development and Implementation Office at the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO), headed by Jorge Vargas, the program's director general, to discuss Syria's officially approved plan to reform the civil aviation sector.
The Syrian plan includes the development of airport and air navigation infrastructure, as well as building human capacities and technical training for personnel, in line with the international standards adopted by the organization.
This meeting comes as part of enhancing technical cooperation between Syria and ICAO, and confirming Damascus's commitment to rehabilitating the aviation sector according to the best global practices, ensuring the safety and security of air traffic and keeping pace with developments in international air transport.
