In a highly significant humanitarian step, the National Commission for the Missing in Syria held a joint meeting on Wednesday with its Lebanese counterpart, during which they agreed to exclusively exchange data on missing persons between the two parties, contributing to uncovering the fate of thousands of cases pending between the two countries.
The agreement also included cooperation in governance, documenting cases, and participating in relevant international events, aiming to unify efforts and provide the truth to the families of the missing.
Both sides emphasized the continuation of consultations in the upcoming phase, which enhances mechanisms for search and documentation, and lays the foundations for long-term institutional cooperation that serves justice and fairness.
