Starlink, a company owned by billionaire Elon Musk that specializes in satellite internet services, announced a sudden service outage this morning, Monday, affecting tens of thousands of users, especially in the United States.
A brief official statement published on the company's website said:
"Starlink is currently experiencing a service outage. Our team is investigating the matter."
The company has not yet disclosed the reasons for the malfunction or the expected timeline for restoring service, raising a wave of questions and concerns among users.
According to data from the website "Down Detector" which specializes in monitoring and tracking technical outages, more than 43,000 users in the United States reported issues accessing the internet service by 04:35 AM GMT.
"Starlink" is one of the prominent projects operated by SpaceX, owned by Musk, providing internet through a network of low Earth orbit satellites, specifically targeting remote and isolated areas where access to traditional internet networks is difficult, as well as conflict zones around the world.
As of the time of preparing this report, "SpaceX" has not issued any official comment on the incident, while the technical support team at "Starlink" continues to work on diagnosing the issue and restoring service as quickly as possible.
