Ukrainian parliament member Oleksandr Fediienko revealed a massive database leak containing personal information of about 20 million Ukrainian citizens, which has been circulated online.
Fediienko explained in a post on Facebook that part of this information had been published earlier, but the recent leak includes sensitive data of several well-known politicians, including their current phone numbers.
He added that the leaked database also includes people who have not registered in the national electronic service "Diia", and that most of the extracted information comes from tax records dated up to January 1, 2025.
In a related comment, MP Yaroslav Zheleznyak noted that the incident occurred just three days after Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky signed a law restricting access to public property records for national security reasons. He wrote: "Ironically, the gap between closing the records and leaking 20 million records online was only three days."
So far, Ukrainian authorities have not issued any official data regarding the scale of the leak or the measures taken to address it, while concerns are growing about the potential misuse of this data for fraud or security threats.
