The ships of the "Global Solidarity Fleet" arrive at the port of Sidi Bou Said in Tunisia in preparation for departure to Gaza

The ships of the "Global Solidarity Fleet", coming from the port of Barcelona, have started to arrive at the port of Sidi Bou Said in the northern suburb of the capital Tunis, in preparation to join the "Maghreb Solidarity Convoy" heading towards the Gaza Strip in an attempt to break the imposed siege.
Three ships arrived at the port carrying a number of international activists, including Swedish environmental activist Greta Thunberg and Brazilian activist Thiago Avila.
The coastal area adjacent to the port witnessed a gathering of a large number of Tunisians and civil society representatives, who raised Palestinian flags and wore Palestinian keffiyehs in welcoming the fleet.
It is expected that dozens of local Tunisian and Maghreb ships will join the global fleet before its scheduled departure on Wednesday, September 10, in what organizers have described as the "largest maritime movement" towards Gaza.
Several Tunisian cities are also witnessing fundraising campaigns to finance the trip, which aims to highlight the humanitarian crisis in the Gaza Strip.
