The city of Al-Obour in Cairo Governorate witnessed a state of shock and anger after the revelation of a sexual assault on six kindergarten students inside one of the international schools.

Incident Details

The incident began when one of the students informed her mother about attempts of harassment she and her classmates faced from a worker and an electrician at the school. It later became clear that the number of victims had reached six children, who were subjected to violations by cleaning staff, an electrician, and a security personnel, with one of them luring the children to areas not covered by surveillance cameras.

Investigations and Legal Actions

Parents filed an official complaint with the public prosecutor, who initiated investigations and arrested the suspects, placing them in pretrial detention. The school administration confirmed in an official statement its full commitment to cooperate with judicial authorities and expressed solidarity with the families, while the legal advisor monitored the events.

Public Outrage

The incident sparked widespread condemnation on social media platforms, where activists described what happened as a "major scandal" and called for the harshest penalties for the perpetrators. Some also demanded the criminal accountability of the school administration, emphasizing that the protection of children should be a priority, and called for stricter laws to ensure the safety of students within schools.
