Russia's Representative to the Security Council: The Bombing of Doha Opens the Door to Targeting Any Capital in the World

Russia's Permanent Representative to the United Nations, Vasily Nebenzya, warned of the seriousness of the Israeli attack on the Qatari capital, Doha, considering that what happened constitutes a dangerous precedent that could lead Israel to target any other city or capital in the world.
During a Security Council session on Thursday evening, Nebenzya stated that what occurred "is not a coincidence but a logical result of the complete impunity that Israel enjoys," accusing the United States of providing the diplomatic cover that encourages it to cross boundaries.
He added that the bombing of Doha represents a "blatant and unequivocally condemned aggression," describing it as a "reckless" act that undermines international mediation efforts in Gaza, noting that Qatar has played a pivotal role in seeking to stop the bloodshed and release hostages.
The Russian representative warned that the strike will have "serious repercussions" on the situation in Gaza and the Middle East in general, pointing out that it targeted an area that includes foreign diplomatic missions, and that the Russian embassy is only 600 meters away from the site of the attack.
