Russian Foreign Minister: Russia senses an American desire to maintain dialogue through all channels

Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov confirmed that his country seeks to maintain dialogue with the United States through all available channels, expressing Moscow's awareness of a similar desire from the American side.
This came during a press interview with the Russian minister today, Thursday, as reported by the Russian news agency "Sputnik".
Lavrov clarified, saying: "Yes, we want to maintain the dialogue that took place between our two presidents, and between our two foreign ministers, through other channels, between national security advisors and special representatives of the presidents, and we see the same desire from the American side".
Speaking about American President Donald Trump, Lavrov described him as a clear and results-oriented figure, saying: "He does not hedge, nor does he hide his thoughts. He focuses on results, on what he calls 'deals' in the broadest sense of the word. This includes mutually beneficial projects in the economy, space, natural resource development, and modern technology".
The Russian minister also pointed out that what he called the "deep state" hinders Trump's efforts.
On the other hand, Lavrov expressed Moscow's appreciation for the step taken by Trump after his meeting with Russian President Vladimir Putin, describing it as "significant", stating: "Moscow considers President Trump's initiation, following his meeting with President Putin in Alaska, to call not only for a ceasefire in Ukraine but for a long-term and sustainable settlement, a significant step".
