Russian Envoy Kirill Dmitriev: Trump's Policies Contributed to Reducing the Risk of a Third World War

Kirill Dmitriev, the special envoy of the Russian president for investment and economic cooperation, announced today, Wednesday, that the foreign policies pursued by U.S. President Donald Trump contributed to lowering the threat level of a Third World War.
This was stated in a post by the Russian diplomat on the social media platform "X", where he wrote: "In fact, the Third World War has been prevented, and its outbreak will be prevented thanks to President Trump and his team."
Dmitriev also touched on Trump's stance on the Ukrainian crisis, noting that the U.S. president had clarified "the issue of the balance of power before a possible settlement of the conflict."
This statement comes following a meeting between Russian President Vladimir Putin and his U.S. counterpart Donald Trump in the U.S. state of Alaska on August 15. The two leaders discussed during that meeting _which was described by both sides as "positive"_ ways to reach a settlement to the ongoing conflict in Ukraine.
The Russian envoy's statement is considered one of the most prominent public assessments from an official linked to the Kremlin, linking U.S. policy during Trump's era to a reduction in the risk of widespread global escalation.
