Russia warns: We will respond immediately to any American nuclear test

A senior Russian diplomat warned on Wednesday that Moscow would rush to conduct a nuclear test if the United States carried out a similar test, in response to indications that Washington is preparing for such an action.
This warning aligns with statements made by Russian President Vladimir Putin days earlier, in which he confirmed that his country would conduct a nuclear test if "any other nuclear power" did so.
In the details of the news, Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Sergey Ryabkov indicated that his country had noticed Washington's preparations for this step, stating in remarks reported by the Russian news agency: "Russia has observed that the United States has been working for some time to prepare the infrastructure for these tests."
Ryabkov emphasized the decisiveness of the Russian response if these preparations turned into action, clarifying: "Ryabkov added that if the United States conducts a test, Moscow will quickly follow the same approach."
This verbal escalation comes amid increasing tensions between the two nuclear powers, as President Putin had previously stated that Moscow had detected "indications that an unnamed country is preparing to carry out such tests," a clear reference from observers to the United States.
