Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov made a phone call with his Qatari counterpart Mohammed bin Abdulrahman bin Jassim Al Thani, during which he confirmed Moscow's strong condemnation of the Israeli attack on Qatar on September 9.
The Russian Foreign Ministry stated in a statement: "The minister expressed Russia's solidarity with the leadership and people of Qatar regarding the attack, emphasizing that this act represents a blatant violation of international law and an infringement on Qatar's sovereignty and territorial integrity."
The statement added that Russia extended its heartfelt condolences to the families and friends of the Qatari victims and wished a speedy recovery to the injured. For his part, the Qatari Foreign Minister expressed his gratitude for Russia's supportive stance towards his country's sovereignty.
The Israeli army and the "Shabak" agency launched an airstrike on Doha targeting the leadership of the "Hamas" movement, while the movement confirmed the failure of the assassination attempt on its leaders, but indicated the death of several members of the delegation, including the son of Khalil Hayya and Jihad Labad, his office manager.
Several countries affirmed their solidarity with Qatar and considered the Israeli attack a blatant violation of the state's sovereignty and completely unacceptable.
