Rubio Declares the End of the Old World and the Beginning of a New Era in International Politics

U.S. Secretary of State Marco Rubio confirmed that the world is changing at an unprecedented pace, stating that "the old world is gone ... and it will not return."
This was said in press statements on the sidelines of his attendance at the Munich Security Conference, where he described the current situation as the beginning of a new era in geopolitical dynamics.
Rubio said:
"We are witnessing enormous changes in the international system before our eyes, and this requires all countries to reconsider the shape of this era and the role of the United States in it."
* Easing Tensions with Europe
In an effort to reassure European allies after years of fluctuating U.S. policies, Rubio emphasized the deep ties between the United States and Europe stating:
"We are very closely linked to Europe ... most Americans can trace their cultural or personal heritage back to Europe, so we just need to talk about that."
European leaders hope that Rubio's presence this year leading the U.S. delegation to the Munich Security Conference will lead to at least a temporary truce, after President Donald Trump's policies and threats stirred up turmoil in transatlantic relations, according to the Associated Press.
It is worth noting that U.S. Vice President JD Vance led the U.S. delegation at the conference last year and sparked widespread controversy after his verbal attack on many of America's strongest allies in Europe.
