In an emotional speech before the United Nations General Assembly on Monday, the Palestinian representative Riyad Mansour affirmed that the Palestinian people face death and destruction daily, holding the occupation responsible for the tragic reality in the Palestinian territories, and pointing to ongoing attempts to exclude Palestinians from geography and history.
Mansour stressed that violence is a dead end, stating: "We reject it for the sake of both Palestinians and Israelis," adding that injustice cannot be justified or protected by any party, referring to the need to end violations against the Palestinian people.
In a clear call for peace, he said: "We do not need a truce, but an end to violence, and freedom leads to peace. This is the path we all must take," emphasizing that the New York Declaration represents a historical document for implementing the two-state solution, as it is the only way to achieve justice and stability in the region.
