The Directorate of Museums and Antiquities in the city of Manbij in the eastern Aleppo countryside announced today, Tuesday, the extraction of an ancient stone carved in the shape of an eagle, following a report from a citizen about its presence behind the wholesale market.
According to the directorate, the piece was transferred to the "old bath" site for safe storage, emphasizing the importance of community cooperation in reporting archaeological discoveries that contribute to protecting the historical and cultural heritage of the city.

The newspaper "Enab Baladi" quoted the director of the media office at the Directorate of Antiquities and Museums in Aleppo, Ismail Kurdi, stating that "the ancient stone is a funerary stele carved from a Roman tomb, and the stele bears the engraving of a falcon."
Kurdi added that initial information is limited, and detailed results will emerge after the archaeological expertise procedures.
He indicated that the directorate is keeping the stele in Manbij in preparation for its transfer to Aleppo for testing.
