Qatar strongly condemns Israel's targeting of Hamas leaders in Doha and vows not to be lenient

The Qatari Ministry of Foreign Affairs condemned today, Tuesday, in the strongest terms the Israeli airstrikes that targeted residential premises in the capital Doha, where several members of Hamas's political bureau reside, emphasizing that this aggression represents a blatant violation of international laws and norms, and a direct threat to the security and safety of citizens and residents on Qatari soil.

In an official statement, the Qatari Foreign Ministry described the attack as "reckless behavior," stressing that Doha will not tolerate any act that targets its security and sovereignty, and that the security and civil defense authorities immediately began dealing with the incident and taking the necessary measures to contain its repercussions and ensure the safety of the surrounding areas.

This escalation comes at a sensitive time in regional negotiations, as Hamas leaders were holding a meeting to discuss a U.S. proposal for a ceasefire, before being directly targeted by Israeli aircraft, in an operation that Tel Aviv described as "retaliatory" against the movement's officials.
