Nineveh is bombed and Erbil is under drones.. Iraq narrowly escapes the explosion 'miraculously' so far

In a new development reflecting the expansion of regional conflict, sites belonging to the Popular Mobilization Forces in Nineveh Governorate, specifically in the Nimrud area east of Mosul, were subjected to several consecutive airstrikes.
According to security sources, no human losses were recorded, indicating that the strikes were more of a 'warning' nature rather than widespread targeting.

In parallel, air defenses intercepted drone attacks in the skies over Erbil, where two drones were shot down without any injuries.
An explosion was heard near Erbil International Airport, which houses forces from the international coalition, indicating an escalation in threats against sensitive sites in the region.

The escalation extended to the Jurf al-Sakhar area, where a headquarters belonging to the Popular Mobilization Forces, which includes 'Brigade 45', was subjected to similar airstrikes, with no human losses recorded.
Popular Mobilization factions accused the United States and Israel of being behind these attacks amid rising regional tensions.

The attacks were not limited to military sites but also targeted vital facilities, including the West Qurna-1 oil field in southern Iraq, where a drone fell without exploding.
These developments have led foreign oil companies to temporarily suspend their operations, amid fears of an expanded targeting of the energy sector.

Despite the increasing strikes and attacks, the governments in Baghdad and Erbil are trying to avoid slipping into an open confrontation by exercising restraint and strengthening air defenses.
However, the continuation of attacks and the repeated targeting of the American embassy in Baghdad and military sites reflects the fragility of this balance.
