Morgan Ortagus's selfie with Elie Saab in Beirut ignites social media

U.S. Deputy Special Envoy for the Middle East Morgan Ortagus documented special moments from her visit to Lebanon, which came alongside Tom Barak, during which she met the world-renowned Lebanese designer Elie Saab and described him as "the legend".

Ortagus posted a "selfie" through the "story" feature on her official Instagram account, taken with Elie Saab in Beirut, with a caption expressing admiration and appreciation: "I finally met the legend Elie Saab in Lebanon".

Her visit did not stop there; she also visited the famous Lebanese hairstylist Tony Mendez, who shared a video on his official Instagram account while styling Ortagus's hair in the capital, Beirut.

Tony commented on the video saying: "The woman you all have been waiting for," as Morgan appeared with a broad smile and a medium-length hairstyle that surpassed her shoulders with wavy styling.

This visit comes amid widespread controversy sparked by Tom Barak's statements in which he described journalists as "chaotic," leading to intense criticism and follow-ups in Lebanese media circles.
