Mohammed bin Salman Meets with the German Chancellor to Discuss Regional and International Issues

In a move that reflects the Kingdom's commitment to enhancing its international relations, Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman, Prime Minister, received the Federal Chancellor of the Federal Republic of Germany, Friedrich Merz, at the Royal Court in Al-Yamamah Palace in Riyadh yesterday evening, Wednesday.
During the official session, the two sides discussed aspects of bilateral cooperation and opportunities for its development across various sectors, in addition to reviewing the latest developments in regional and international events and the efforts being made regarding them.
The Saudi Crown Prince also met with a delegation of German businessmen accompanying Chancellor Merz, in a move aimed at enhancing economic and investment cooperation between the two countries.
This meeting comes within the framework of the growing economic relations between Saudi Arabia and Germany, where the volume of trade exchange between the two countries reached 7.6 billion dollars in the first nine months of 2024.
In addition, Saudi Arabia and Germany signed a memorandum of understanding to establish a green hydrogen bridge, with the first phase aiming to export 200,000 tons of hydrogen.
The meeting reflects the Kingdom's vision to strengthen its global partnerships and enhance its role in regional and international dialogue, while Germany emphasizes the importance of cooperation with Saudi Arabia in various economic and political fields.
