On Saturday, March 29, 2025, Engineer Mohammed Anjarani (born in 1992) was appointed as the Minister of Local Administration and Environment in the new Syrian government. Anjarani has an impressive resume, having participated in the Syrian revolution since its inception, and was arrested by the Assad regime in late 2011. The minister contributed to the establishment of the Ministry of Endowments in the Salvation Government, where he served as its Secretary-General, in addition to his administrative responsibilities as the General Manager of Aleppo Region and his presidency of the Central Authority for Inspection and Monitoring. Anjarani served as the Minister of Local Administration in the last two terms of the Salvation Government, and continued to oversee the ministry's tasks in the caretaker government before his official appointment to the new position. In addition to his political and administrative career, Anjarani has extensive experience in community work, having contributed to the establishment and management of several humanitarian and developmental associations and organizations in Aleppo and its countryside. The new minister holds a degree in Mechanical Engineering, adding a technical dimension to his administrative and organizational expertise.
