In a step aimed at enhancing the quality of health services for children in Syria, the Syrian Ministry of Health, in collaboration with UNICEF, launched a specialized training course today, Sunday, to prepare trainers in the field of integrated child health and development care, as part of a national program that seeks to develop medical staff and improve the efficiency of health care provided to children.

Expanding Health Care Coverage in 6 Governorates

This course is part of the ministry's plan to expand the program to include 6 Syrian governorates, covering 87 health centers, where qualified staff are trained to implement the integrated care methodology for children according to the latest medical standards approved by the World Health Organization.

The program aims to:
• Improve health indicators for children in Syria.
• Ensure proper growth and safe development for children.
• Build the capacities of health staff in diagnosing and treating common childhood diseases.
• Enhance integration between preventive and therapeutic care.

Future Plan to Cover All Governorates.

The program is scheduled to witness subsequent expansion phases to include all 14 Syrian governorates, ensuring that integrated health care services reach children in various areas, especially in rural and remote areas suffering from weak medical services.

This program comes in the context of the Ministry of Health's efforts to activate early intervention programs, develop health infrastructure, and achieve a better health future for Syrian children amid ongoing challenges facing the health sector.
