Ministry of Energy: Relative Improvement in Electricity After the Entry of Azerbaijani Gas… and Technical Failures Delay Full Stability

Al-Suleiman explained in a statement that the introduction of Azerbaijani gas into the network over the past few days has contributed to a noticeable improvement in generation capacity, but technical failures in the compressors at the Twainan station, due to the deterioration of infrastructure, have led to a decline in production in recent hours.
He pointed out that technical teams are currently working to repair the faults and restart the compressors, expecting that this will reflect a tangible improvement in electricity supply as soon as the repairs are completed.
Al-Suleiman also emphasized that the ministry continues to work with local and international companies to expand gas production, in addition to seeking additional supply sources, ensuring stability and gradual improvement in supply.
It is noteworthy that the pumping of Azerbaijani gas into Syria via Turkish territory began at the beginning of August, under a memorandum of understanding signed between Damascus and Baku in July, aimed at supporting power generation stations and increasing electricity supply hours.
