The Israeli army issued an urgent warning today, Monday, to the residents of the southern suburb of Beirut, announcing its intention to carry out strikes targeting the headquarters of the Al-Qard Al-Hassan Association linked to Hezbollah in various areas of Lebanon.
The warning came hours after an Israeli raid targeted the southern suburb, as part of the ongoing military escalation between Israel and Hezbollah amid the regional war.
Threat to Strike Hezbollah's Financial Infrastructure
Israeli army spokesman Avichai Adraee stated in a video posted on his account on the platform "X" that Israeli forces will target the infrastructure of the Al-Qard Al-Hassan Association in the coming hours.
He explained that the association is considered, in his words, "a central element in financing Hezbollah's activities," emphasizing that the army is preparing to carry out strikes against its sites in several Lebanese areas.
Urgent Call to Evacuate Homes
Adraee urged residents of the southern suburb to evacuate their homes immediately, pointing to specific evacuation routes published through his official platforms.
He also accused Hezbollah of "dragging the residents of the southern suburb into a war on behalf of the Iranian regime," adding that Lebanese civilians are the ones paying the price for this escalation.
Targeting Association Branches in Lebanon
Israel had carried out a series of strikes last week targeting several branches of the Al-Qard Al-Hassan Association, which has around 31 branches inside Lebanon.
These strikes were primarily concentrated in the southern suburb of Beirut, as well as areas in southern Lebanon, where the association's offices are widely spread.
Ongoing Escalation on the Lebanese Front
This threat comes amid the widening confrontation between Israel and Hezbollah, as both sides exchanged rocket and drone fire in recent days, coinciding with the ongoing war between Israel and Iran.
Observers believe that targeting the party's financial infrastructure could represent a new phase of escalation, potentially pushing the confrontation to more dangerous levels within Lebanon.
