In rapid developments on the regional scene, Israeli Channel 12 revealed that the military establishment in Tel Aviv recently detected signs of intentions to carry out operations targeting Israelis abroad, prompting security agencies to raise the level of alert and coordinate with several countries.
In parallel, Axios reported that the Israeli Minister of Strategic Affairs held a meeting in London with American businessman Steve Witkoff, as part of undisclosed diplomatic efforts to resume negotiations with Hamas, amid American indications of a "real opportunity" to relaunch talks in the coming two weeks.
These moves come days after a wide military escalation in Gaza, and an attack targeting Hamas leaders in Doha, which raised tensions with Qatar, the main mediator in the ceasefire file. Nevertheless, Washington believes that the negotiation window is still open, especially with increasing international pressure for a ceasefire.
