Israel carries out an aerial assassination operation in the heart of Doha targeting prominent leaders of Hamas

According to Israeli reports, the operation, described as "retaliatory," was part of a direct targeting of the Hamas negotiating delegation, which was discussing a U.S. proposal for a ceasefire, inside one of the sites in the heart of the Qatari capital.
For its part, Al-Arabiya channel and Saudi sources announced the "elimination" of leader Khalil Hayya, while no official comment has been issued by Hamas so far.
This operation comes at a sensitive time in the negotiations, as Doha is viewed as a key mediator in the efforts for de-escalation between Israel and Hamas, opening the door to potential diplomatic and security ramifications in the region.
Commenting on the event, Israeli officials stated that the operation represents a "direct response to Hamas's external activities," confirming a political and security consensus within Israel to carry out the attack, which Channel 14 described as "of great strategic importance."
