ISIS kills 50 civilians in a violent attack on a funeral in eastern Congo

More than 50 civilians have been killed in eastern Democratic Republic of Congo after armed men from the "Allied Democratic Forces" _a rebel group linked to ISIS_ attacked a funeral gathering, in one of the most violent attacks the country has witnessed recently.

Two local officials confirmed that the attack occurred while a large number of residents were gathered for the burial ceremony, where the assailants surprised those present and opened fire indiscriminately, resulting in dozens of casualties in a shocking bloody scene.

This massacre is part of a series of brutal attacks carried out by the extremist group in eastern Congo, which has been experiencing ongoing security disturbances for years.

The Allied Democratic Forces are considered one of the most dangerous armed groups in the region, having intensified their operations recently under the banner of ISIS, repeatedly targeting civilians in remote villages.

These repeated massacres raise increasing concern among international organizations and local authorities, amid renewed calls to strengthen military and security efforts to protect civilians and put an end to the expansion of extremist groups in the region.
